Springer Geometry

In this video, Vince Costa is using a springer front end that he designed, as an example to show everyone how the suspension geometry is the most important part of your springer. He shows in great detail the rockers and how they are supposed to function while going over a bump. Just always remember that your axle has to be higher than the pivot point, that way when you hit a bump, the axle goes up and back allowing the wheel to move freely over the bump. He further explains, the way American Suspension manufactures their springer front ends. They supply the tubes slightly over length, which allows you to mock your bike up so you can set the exact length of the tubes by trimming the end of it, and making the rocker geometry perfect for your motorcycle. If you buy a springer front end where you can’t adjust the length of the tubes, it means that whatever the rocker geometry is, you are stuck with.
American Suspension provides springer front ends with the proper design and setup, which gives you a better ride than any other springer front end in the market today.
